It's a tradition at Distrolution Merch. Every month, we present you with a band that we've decided to highlight, and this month, we invite you to discover the French metal band, Naraka!

Hello, Naraka! Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! Can you introduce your band to our readers?
Naraka is a recent metal band with thrash, death, and symphonic black death influences. The first album "In Tenebris" was released in October 2021 via Blood Blast / Nuclear Blast for digital and via Season of Mist for physical copies.
You've just finished a great tour across 12 countries. Tell us about your experience!
Incredible experience! Opening for Cradle of Filth and Alcest was simply surreal, a true human experience, and it allowed Naraka to introduce the first album to many people!
Is there a concert that particularly stood out to you during this tour?
The concert in Toulouse was amazing! Moreover, in our country, the audience was responsive from the very first notes, it was really a cool gig ;)
How do you maintain the pace on such an intensive tour?
That's for sure, especially since we, as an opening band, don't have a tour bus. We travel in a van, so over more than 12,000 km, fatigue and stress are very present, but despite that, the moments on stage remain magical!
You released your first album 'In Tenebris' a year ago. How long did you work on this album?
About 2 years, the work began when the band was formed in 2018 and finished in 2020. The final mixing took place during the first lockdown, and after that, of course, we couldn't immediately go out and play concerts due to the pandemic.

How would you describe your usual composition process?
It all starts with a riff, what I would call a main riff, where there isn't necessarily any vocals, and then the rest of the riffs that will accompany the vocals come naturally. The main riff remains important in the composition process, it can come to mind just like that or while warming up on the guitar.
Let's talk about merch. Is there any item (merch, pressing, stage equipment) that you consider particularly important? If so, which one?
Having beautiful visuals for the merch is something very important to us, because the visual remains the thing that attracts people first when they don't know the music yet.
The final word is yours!
Thank you, and thanks to Distrolution Merch for the superb work done in creating our backdrop for the stage! ;)
